Sometimes, you want to adjust the VAT setting of a particular quote if it deviates from the standard VAT setting of comparable event types. But how do you do this?
There are two options. Option 1 is to change the VAT setting of one particular quote. Option 2 is to change the VAT setting of the quote and events with the same event type.
Adjusting the VAT setting of one particular quote is often done when the VAT setting of the event type is normally set differently and an exception is made for this event particularly (option 1). In case the event is not an exception and rather is comparable to other events of the same event type, it might be wise to adjust the VAT setting of the event type (option 2).
Option 1: Change VAT setting of one quote
You can do this while editting the concept quote. Hover your mouse over the cost summary. You will now see a black menu bar appear on the right side next of the cost summary (see image below). Select the 'gear' icon.
Now, determine the VAT setting. You can choice out of default VAT (based on the event types' VAT setting), excluding VAT or including VAT. Make sure to save the changes.
Option 2: Change VAT setting of quote and events with identical event type
To change the VAT setting for a specific event type, go to setup > settings > event types. Select the event type you want to make changes to. Select the preferred VAT setting at 'VAT settings for products'. Make sure to save the changes. Now, the VAT setting is linked to the event type.
Pay attention! All existing events with this event type are also adjusted accordingly.
