How to add a (personal) signature?

Personalize messages sent from MICE by adding your own personal e-mail signature. You can also add a default e-mail signature. Do you want to create a signature in MICE or copy your signature from your email software? Both options are possible.


Functionality

Your personal e-mail signature is retrieved while sending messages and is added to your message automatically. The signature is added at new messages from the general inbox and message environment of an event, but also while sending quotes, documents and invoices.

The default e-mail signature is used for (automatic) messages that are not linked to a person/sender.

The signature is displayed in grey colour while typing of a message, indicating that it has been added automatically and is still editable. After sending the message, the signature gets its original colour.


1. Set a personal e-mail signature

Click on your profile picture at the top right and choose 'your account'. Go to 'preferences' in the left-hand menu. At the bottom, you can now create a personal e-mail signature or paste it from, for instance, an e-mail software.

Images must first be uploaded to your media library before they can be added to your signature. To do so, click 'insert image' in the layout bar next to your personal signature.

A personal e-mail signature is not available for automated messages that are not linked to a user (mostly the event planner). However, you can add a default e-mail signature that's added to messages without a known (personal) sender.

2. Set a default e-mail signature

At your company details settings in setup, you can set a default e-mail signature. This signature appears under (automatic) e-mails without a known (personal) sender. This applies to messages from the request module or events to which no event planner is assigned.


Process the same signature within your organisation

Most of the times, the same e-mail signature (with a different name) is used within an organisation. Obviously, you want the signature to look the same in MICE. We are happy to help you with this.

Usually, the signature is created by one person. This person can use the online tool below to prepare the signature, from which the source code can then be shared with staff, who can easily retrieve the signature in the online tool.

Add the signature in the left-hand window. You will then see a source code appear in the right window. Copy this code and share it with your staff.

Staff can add the signature in MICE by following the steps below.

  1. Copy the source code you received

  2. In the source (right panel), paste the source code

  3. In the left pane, you will see the preview. Adjust data if necessary.

  4. Copy all content from the left panel

  5. In MICE, click on your profile picture in the top right-hand corner of the screen and select 'edit profile'

  6. Paste the signature in the 'personal e-mail signature' field

  7. You may need to add an image in the media library first. To do so, click on 'insert image' in the layout bar in the window where you added your signature
