Sometimes we hear that the link to a quotation did not work. In most cases, this is due to a manual action, namely that the message was copied/pasted with a link to an (old or wrong) quotation.
For an event, you can create and send multiple quotes. Each quotation has a unique link that is sent to the client. While sending a quote, the automatic message is retrieved and you can still edit it if necessary. In the retrieved message, you will already see the link to the quotation. This link is linked to the quotation.
We often see that users have copied (because the text has still been edited) the quotation message including the link to the specific quotation and paste this message while sending another quotation. Then the link in the message refers to the wrong quotation.
