With the request module, of course, you want to receive requests.
In order to carry out these assignments most efficiently, it is important that the request module contains the correct and up-to-date information so you can actually offer what is being requested.
To define the available options in the request for proposal tool, you need to configure the following elements:
Step 1: In the left-handed navigation menu, click on 'Setup'.⚙️
Event types
Step 2: In the setup menu, under settings, click on 'event types'.
Step 3: Set everything right here! Make sure to include all events that you can possibly organise.
You can add an event by clicking on 'add event type' at the top right. You can remove a type by clicking on the bin to the right of the event.
Move an event type by keeping pressed your left mouse button on the three vertical lines next to the event type name and move your cursor to the top or bottom.
Step 4: Save your details.
Locations
Step 5: In the setup menu, click on "Locations".
Step 6: Fill in all your possible locations and make sure that all the locations you have available are included.
You can add locations by pressing the blue 'add location' button at the top. You can delete a location by clicking on the bin on the right-hand side of the location bar.
Move a location by keeping pressed your left mouse button on the three vertical lines next to the location name and move your cursor to the top or bottom.
You can also configure the widget so that applicants cannot select a location. You can read more about this later in the article under the heading "Widget settings."
Step 7: Save your details.
Step 8: Specify which event types are available for each location. This can be done easily through the quick edit screen. To access this, click the pencil icon at the top right in the location overview (see image below).
Packages
Step 9: Click on 'packages' in the setup menu.
Step 10: Add all your packages here and make sure they are up to date. You can add a package by clicking on 'add package' at the top.
You can remove a package by pressing the bin to the right of the package.
Move a package by keeping pressed your left mouse button on the three vertical lines next to the package name and move your cursor to the top or bottom.
Step 11: Specify which event types are available for each package. This can be done easily through the quick edit screen. To access this, click the pencil icon at the top right in the package overview (see image below).
Step 12: Save your details.
Widget settings
Once your event types, locations, and packages are complete, you can proceed to configure the widget settings.
Step 13: Click on "widgets" in the setup menu.
Step 13a: Are you using MICE Pro? If so, you can add multiple widgets here if needed. Select the relevant widget you wish to configure.
You are now in the settings of the request for proposal tool. Under each section, you can add specific information and adjust the settings.
Tip: Open each section and tailor the information as needed before testing the application module or publishing it on your website. Don’t forget to save your changes. Once saved, changes are immediately reflected in the widget.
Limiting event types
Under the Event Info section, you can optionally restrict the available event types for the specific application module. Leave this field empty if all event types should be available. If you add just one event type in this field, the step to select an event type will be skipped automatically, and the event will still be linked to the specified event type.
Pro Tip: With MICE Pro, you can create a separate application module for each event type and place it under a button on a specific page. This way, the applicant doesn’t need to select an event type in the widget.
Skipping location selection
Under the Locations section, you can configure the application module to skip the step where applicants select a location. To do this, set Allow Location Selection? to No.
Note: If location selection is disabled, the event will be scheduled with "No Location." As the event planner, you may need to assign a location to the event manually later.
Submitting a request yourself
It is possible to create (test) requests yourself to understand the entire process without needing the widget to be live on your website. To do this, copy the widget link on the right-hand side (see the image below) and paste it into your browser’s address bar.
TIP: Open a new browser tab and paste the widget link there. This allows you to quickly switch between the back-office and the application module.

FAQ
How can I make a location or package unavailable in the widget but still use it for planning?
Locations and packages are linked to event types. In Step 1 of the request process, the client selects an event type, and in subsequent steps, relevant options are presented.
To make a location or package unavailable in the application module, link it to a (newly created, if needed) event type that is not enabled for the widget. This can be configured via Setup > Event types, where you can specify per event type whether it is available in the widgets.
Keep in mind that the location or package should only be linked to this specific event type (and not others). This ensures that the location or package remains unavailable in the widget but can still be used for planning purposes.
Can I block a single location from receiving applications?
No, this is not possible. However, with MICE Pro, you can block an entire day for requests, which applies to all locations.
