Updated over a week ago

We are continuously improving MICE. With every update, we make the system better, smarter, and more user-friendly.

Explore the latest additions and optimisations below, and read in this blog how our roadmap is developed.

Update October (25.6)

🖥️ New design for the event dashboard

The event dashboard has been given a refreshed look & feel. The interface now aligns seamlessly with the new event creation screen, making the overview even more intuitive and user-friendly.

Event details are now displayed more clearly and compactly in a narrower column, giving the schedule more space. In addition, details can now be edited directly - there is no need to click “Edit event” first.

👀 A much-requested feature: any notes added to a customer/organisation are now also displayed (below the customer details).

📂 Terms & Conditions per language - automatically added to proposals

Upload a custom Terms & Conditions file for each language. Ideal when working with international clients: the system automatically selects the correct language based on the language used in the event. This keeps your communication professional and consistent.

The Terms & Conditions file is automatically added as an attachment to quote messages. In the client portal, the file can also be found under the ‘agreements’ tab, making it easy for clients to view and download.

📑 Making files visible to your clients

You can now easily make files available to your clients. Perfect for sharing additional information that isn’t included in the proposal, such as a venue factsheet, floor plan, safety guidelines, or other supporting documents. This way, your client has everything neatly organised in one place - no need for separate emails or attachments.

Within the event, go to Documents > Files, upload your file, and set its visibility using the padlock icon.

🔒 Closed padlock = file is not visible to the client

🔓 Open padlock = file is visible in the client portal

Published files can be found by your client under the (new) ‘Files’ tab in the client portal.

💼 Creating quote templates at cockpit level

Do you work with multiple accounts and an overarching cockpit account? Good news: you can now create proposal templates directly from the cockpit account. The templates are automatically added to all linked accounts, so you no longer need to recreate them per account. This saves time and avoids duplicate work.

Simply create a new proposal template in the cockpit account, and the system will ensure it becomes visible in every connected account. This way, you work with the same initial template across all accounts.

🗂️ Copy tab in interactive quote template

Want to reuse the content of a tab in a new one? Save time by copying the tab - just click the clipboard icon.

⛓️ New custom field type: Hyperlink

A new custom field type has been added: Hyperlink. This allows you to easily store a clickable link within an event or at a contact. Perfect for switching quickly between systems or opening external files or pages directly.

For example, you can add a link to the reservation in your table booking system.

🏢 Locations? Spaces!

The term “Locations” caused some confusion. Some users expected it to refer to different venues or buildings, while others interpreted it as a room or space - which is the correct meaning in MICE. To make this clearer, we have replaced the term “Locations” with “Spaces”.

🤝 Enhancements to the interactive proposal and client portal

  • A call-to-action button has been added on the final tab of the interactive quote, allowing the client to sign the proposal directly.

  • Within the client portal, the content previously found under “invoice details” has now been merged into the “invoices” tab.

  • Clients will now see a confirmation message after submitting comments and/or suggestions in the client portal.

  • Deleted interactive quote templates can now be restored from the bin in the management area.

➕ More improvements and optimisations

  • The date picker for creating an event has been improved (Monday is now the first day of the week, and an “apply” button has been added).

  • Creating a new event from within a contact: when you have a contact open and click '+ New event' in the top right corner, the contact is automatically linked.

  • The field “sender email address” has been removed from workflow emails. Your MICE email address will now always be used as the sender.

  • The client portal has been fully translated into German.

🐛 Bug fixes

  • Bullet points are now displayed correctly in interactive quotes.

  • The correct currency is now shown in interactive quotes.

🔜 Coming soon → Interactive quote feedback

We are aiming to add the following additions to the interactive quote soon:

  • Option for the client to decline the proposal (by cancelling the event).

  • Ability to add a personal signature to the proposal message.

  • Filtering by product category and/or label within the schedule.

Update September (25.5)

Add reference number in the client environment

From the action menu in the client portal, customers can now enter their billing details. Based on popular demand, it is now also possible to add a reference number (such as a order number).

Download QR Code for each request widget

Make it even easier for your customers and colleagues! Every request module in our platform now has its own unique QR code. This allows users to open the module directly on their smartphone or tablet.

New integrations & API key management

In the admin environment, we’ve added a brand-new page for managing integrations and API keys: Integrations. The existing “Connections” page has been moved here, and a complete API key management interface is now available. From now on, you can manage your API keys yourself.

Click here for more information about the new API key management in MICE.

Interactive quotes & client environment: new features and optimizations

  • Products now display their unit (e.g., pieces, items, hours, etc.).

  • The display of product price and total product price can now be toggled separately in an interactive quote’s schedule.

  • Upload multiple files at once in the media gallery.

  • Activities are now shown when days are merged in a schedule.

  • Missing quote number for some interactive quotes has been fixed.

  • Clients can now send comments directly from the client portal.

  • Revisions are now available for interactive quotes.

  • Various optimizations in the client portal.

More enhancements and optimizations

  • Suggestions are now also carried over when duplicating an already duplicated event.

  • Extended history logs in the admin environment with:

    • Actions in the client portal (interactive quotes)

    • User management (invite, change role, add to account, remove from account)

    • API management (add, view, revoke, release, regenerate)

Update August (25.4 & 25.3)

Smarter and clearer event creation

Creating a new event just got a little makeover. You will now work with a clean and structured form on the side of your screen, designed to match how information is displayed in the event dashboard. It is compact, logical, and helps you focus on what matters. You'll instantly see which fields are important and what to expect.

And there’s more coming: behind the scenes, we’re working hard on MICE Assist - our smart AI assistant - to help you fill out this form even faster in the near future.

🛠️ Optimisation

  • The dynamic field “Click here to view and accept the quote” has been updated to “Click here to view or accept the quote”.

Updates first half of 2025

🔄 Move products between activities
You can now drag and drop products to a different activity or to the 'single products' section within a schedule. You can also easily add suggestions this way. If you use time-based pricing for your products, these prices will be automatically recalculated when you move a product. How handy is that!

🌞🍕 MICE now in Spanish and Italian
¡Hola España & Ciao Italia! MICE is now available in Spanish and Italian. You can change your preferred language via 'Your Account' (click on your initials in the top right-hand corner of the screen).

📺 Extra styling options for displays
If you use the (optional, paid) Displays / Narrowcasting module, we can now add more styling options on request. This includes custom colours, font sizes, and spacing to perfectly match your brand's look. Interested? Just send us a message via the chat!

🛠️ Optimisations and Bug Fixes

  • The "always use 0% VAT" setting for deposit invoices is now working correctly.

  • An error message that appeared when opening invoices for deleted events has been resolved.

  • The request for proposal tool now works properly even if the only linked event type has been deleted.

  • The log description for changing an event date is now clearer.

  • The 'Suppliers' button is now visible in accounts with English as the preferred language.

  • And of course, we've made some more minor bug fixes and improvements to security and GDPR compliance.

🔒 Mandatory extra fields in the request for proposal tool

You can now make extra fields in the request module mandatory. This ensures you always receive the necessary information from applicants—no more missing details!

🗃️ Task Archive

Keep your task board clean and efficient! With the new task archive, you can easily archive and restore completed or outdated tasks, making organization a breeze.

🚀 Implementation enhancements

These updates make implementing MICE even faster!

  • A checkbox has been added at the bottom of the screen when creating a new product, allowing you to quickly create another product.

  • You can now create products directly from the product catalog (the screen where products are added to events or packages).

  • After saving a package, you’ll return directly to the overview page.

Additional improvements and optimizations:

  • A performance boost has made the planning view 60% faster.

  • Links in the request widget now open in a new tab by default.

  • Various bug fixes.

  • Security and GDPR-related optimizations.

Price variants per product
From now on, you can set multiple price variants for one product. This means you are no longer limited to just one price per product. With this flexible new feature, you can easily set and adjust different price points to meet various customer needs.

The base of this new price structure allows us to develop more price variants based on certain data in the future.

Notification for no available offer in the request widget

Previously, it was not always clear to clients why no offer was presented in the request widget. From now on, they will be notified if there is no offer based on the search criteria. One can adjust the search criteria or contact you via your (general) email address.

Add product suggestions from a package to an event more easily
Suggestions added to a package can now be added to an event much easier (after the package has been added), by clicking the plus sign next to the product suggestion.

More improvements and optimisations:

  • German translations improved (special thanks to Scheiblhofer).

  • Added support access option (under the 'help' button).

  • Base colour changed from blue to purple (due to rebranding).

  • Preparations for subscription billing via Wefact.

  • Multiple optimisations regarding security and GDPR.

Bug fixes:

  • Conversations were wrongly marked as completed due to automatic messages sent by the system.

  • Base price of a choice product with its price included in the package price was wrongly added to calculations.

  • Planners in rare cases did not receive the message of accepted quotes.

  • Products with variable prices were at €0 in a requested event.

Improved Overview in Conversations and Messages

Older messages in a conversation are now collapsed by default, allowing you to navigate conversations more easily and maintain a better overview. Collapsed messages can be easily expanded again.

Filter Conversations by Client

In addition to filtering by conversation status and planner, we now introduce the option to filter by client. With this addition, you can effortlessly find all conversations you've ever had with a client. Enhance customer service by having direct access to all conversations and gaining deeper insight into interactions with your valuable clients.

Improvements & Optimisations

  • Optimised senders of messages in a conversation so that only external senders are displayed.

  • Implemented additional precautions for identifying and receiving unwanted messages (spam).

Bug Fixes

  • Multi-day events are now correctly processed in the planning boards.

  • Text following bullet points (numbers) now correctly appears next to the bullets instead of below them.

Proposal Viewed by Client?

The digital proposal is an important tool that allows the client to sign your proposal online for approval. Sometimes you may wonder if the client has viewed your proposal. Now, for each proposal, you can see whether and how often it has been viewed by the recipient(s).

Log in with Your Google and/or Microsoft Account

In addition to logging in with your personal email address and password, it is now also possible to log in with your Google and/or Microsoft account. When you use this for the first time, we will try to link it to your existing account.

Status of Files in Work Planning

Discover a new dimension in work planning with our advanced feature that integrates the status of each file (proposals, invoices, and/or documents) into the overview. With this visual optimisation, you can see at a glance whether a proposal has been accepted and whether an invoice has been paid. Transform your work planning and effortlessly maintain an overview.

Help Articles in Management

In almost all management screens, you will now find relevant help articles that guide you in better understanding functions or optimally setting up your system. Take a look!

Warnings for External Links and Emails

We take the safety of our users seriously. Therefore, we find it important to alert you to the risks of external links and email content. From now on, we will display a warning when you click on an external link and in incoming emails that we forward to you.

Improvements & Optimisations

  • Full support for Google Analytics 4 in the request module, also standalone.

  • Optimised iCal integration so that intermediate days of a multi-day event are no longer marked as event days in an external calendar.

  • Clarified buttons in management and added search functions.

  • Performance update for images in proposals and documents.

Bug Fixes

  • The 'mark message as handled' button is now visible again in a conversation with a long title.

  • The 'load more' button at the bottom of the search results works again.

  • Events without a date are no longer included in the revenue report (based on the creation date).

  • Several alignment issues in proposals and documents have been resolved.

  • In an event, the client's choice for an opt-in selection field from the request module is visible again (if 'yes' was selected).

  • The correct price (incl. or excl. VAT) is displayed again under a package with a fixed price in the request module.

  • Locations are translated again in the schedule of an English proposal (with system language set to NL).

  • Export margin calculations now take into account the set label filters.

  • Export sales report grouped by location now takes into account the set date range.

  • Cost overview in the proposal is fully visible again on an iPhone in portrait mode.

Automatic Messages per Event Type

In management, you will find automatic messages that you can compose yourself. It is now possible to link an automatic message to one or more event types.

For example, you can now compose a different proposal message for a meeting than for a wedding. Or a different thank-you message is sent after the event to a business client than to a bridal couple.

Wizard for Setting Up the Request Module

To make the process of setting up the request module simpler and more transparent, we have designed a new wizard. When setting up/changing information, you receive immediate feedback on how this looks in the request module.

By default, you see the mobile view. You can also switch to the desktop view. This way, you optimise the display of the request module for both smartphones and computers.

Linking Extra Fields in the Request Module to Custom Fields

For the request module, you can create extra optional fields that are added to the last step (entering contact details) to request additional information.

Now you can link these extra fields to custom fields (of events, organisations, or contacts), so the custom field is filled with information that the client entered in the request module. You can use the custom field as a variable for messages, proposals, and documents.

Custom Fields, Opt-in Choice, and Client Language in Relation Export

In the export file of relations (organisations or contacts), you will now also find the custom fields (of object type organisations or contacts) in columns. Handy for using extra relationship data outside of MICE.

The setting where you determine per contact whether this person receives all (automatic) emails is also displayed in a column in the export file of contacts (column "mailings").

Per contact, you can now also set a language. This information is also found in the export file of contacts (column "locale").

Improvements & Bug Fixes

  • Automatic messages in management are now sorted by message type for better overview.

  • Warning message added when manually changing an event status.

  • Improvement implemented for email forwarding with general email address to prevent a loop.
